Attack The Block is a 2011 Sci-Fi/Action/Comedy written and directed by Joe Cornish who is well known as one half of Adam and Joe (Link goes to a Fansite) and stars a fair few not so well known actors (But all are amazing) Jodie Whittaker, John Boyega, Alex Esmail and Nick Frost in a small roll.
Out of the main five "heroes" four of them still live at home with parents/grandparents (One of them keeps getting calls from his mum telling him to be home soon) and that makes me chuckles as its true of most "hoodies" that they are kids who still live at home and like to act different when away from home. The fith one lives alone and I guess this is used to justify the fact that he pulls a flick knife out one the woman at the start of the film.
I did like how they put a spin on the typical British gang films by taking the stereotypical badboys and turning them into the goodguys for once in how they defend their tower block from the Space Invaders (I said Space Invaders as they look like the alien on the side of the upright Space Invaders cabinet).
To round it up if you are after a film to put on and enjoy without having to think too much then this is for you.
