So here it is, the BlackBerry PlayBook! This time it was the girlfriend who won this through an online competition.
One thing we were taken back by was the fact the Playbook came with a snug fitting sleeve.
The model we have is the 16GB one, yes it is the smallest one they do but it is perfect for what we will use it for, I will use it to read digital comics and watch youtube and BBC iPlayer where as Emily will be using it for reading up on the beauty and book blogs/vlogs she follows.
The screen is amazing for watching films in bed, I tested it with a Dredd and skipped to the part where Ma-Ma takes SLO-MO in the bath (you will know why if you have seen that film) and it did not disapoint!.
One problem we had with it was charging as it didnt come with a wall plug so we had to charge it via USB but it wouldnt charge! After a quick look online we found out you can charge it with a phone charger but it takes a long time so we just left it over night and its fine now, one thing we are looking into buying is the Rapid Travel Charger but have seen prices going from £20 on Amazon all the way up to £58 on Cleverboxes so I think it is a bit obvious where we will be going!.
And there we have it, I know it was not an in-depth review but we have only use it for a little while.

How lucky was I? I won a Tritton 720+ 7.1 surround sound headset through a competition that Zavvi Gamerz did on Facebook.
As soon as I got them I couldnt help but get them and try them out but was taken back by how great the packaging is!.
I was taken back by all the cables and leads you get in the box, not only do you get the normal ones to set it up but you also get Trittons own HDMI Audio Adapter and an optical cable to go with it (Most of the time you would have to buy these separate)
The headset also comes with a little box of tricks that goes between the xbox and the headset, I will be honest and say I have no idea what it really does but what I do know is it makes the xbox sound amazing.
Now onto the headset itself, they have Neodymium drivers which are the 'highest quality available for use in commercial headsets' so I guess thats a good thing? Each ear cup also has a 50mm speaker. They have something call selectable voice monitoring which lets you pick if you want to hear your own voice or not......now this really does help with late night gaming so you dont wake anyone up shouting to team mates no matter how loud the game gets. Another nice little touch is that not only can you turn game and chat volume separately but you can also mute them so if you are trying to hear where someone is but a team mate keeps chattering in your ear you can just mute all chat volume but game the game volume turned up.
It has a nice little touch (well 2) in that you can turn the ear cups flat for comfort and the mic can be disconnected really easy when watching a film. Film watching is another bonus with this headset, I use it when watching Netflix on the xbox and the sound is just WOW!......makes me wish I have a 7.1 surround sound cinema setup!
So there we have it, I would highly recommended this headset for any avid online player who play xbox or ps3 and even on PC.
This is a little review of the Dishonored: Special Edition. I picked this up in the Game sale for about £20 and is it worth every single penny! The main reason I picked up this game is because its by Bethesda Softworks the guys behind Fallout, Brink, RAGE and a little game series you might of heard of The Elder Scrolls and to be honest I am a fan of their work.
Right then on with the review, the special edition comes with a tarot deck that is based on all the different characters from the game and a DLC code for the Arcane Assassin Pack.
You play as Corvo Attano who is the bodyguard to Empress Jessamine Kaldwin but you are framed for her murder by some teleporting assassins who kill the Empress and kidnap her daughter Young Lady Emily. Corvo turns master assassin to save Emily and clear his name.
What I really like about this game is that you can play through it and kill everyone who steps in your way or you can work through it and not kill anyone, it is totally up to the player to decide how they are going to do each mission but keep in mind that if you do kill alot there will be more rats and a much darker ending. Oh and I also like the game has a slight steam punk image of a late 1800s London.
To help Covro achieve his goal are gadgets and magic that you can upgrade (if you want to) and there is even an achievement where you need to finifh the game without buying anything other then Blink.
My only gripe about this game is that it is not as open world as other Bethesda Softworks but that is my fault for assuming all their games would be but dont get me wrong it dosent make the game worse.
So if you like stealth games like the Thief series then this really is for you.
Dredd is a 2012 action/sci-fi film based on a character from the weekly comic 2000AD it's directed by Pete Travis with characters written by John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra and screenplay by Alex Garland. It stars Karl Urban, Lena Headey and Olivia Thirlby.
In a violent, futuristic city where the police have the authority to act as judge, jury and executioner, a cop teams with a trainee to take down a gang that deals the reality-altering drug, SLO-MO. (Taken from imdb)
During a routine day on the job, Dredd (Urban) is assigned to train and evaluate Cassandra Anderson (Thirlby), a rookie with powerful psychic abilities thanks to a genetic mutation. A tripple murder calls for them to go where the Judges don't tread, one of Mega-City One's many City Blocks (A City Block is a gigantic tower block that can hold upto fifty thousand people and are more like a complete city in itself). While there they find out the entire block is ruled by the Ma-Ma Clan which is ruled by Ma-Ma (Headey)
When I first heard about this film the small child in my went into massive nerd mode, I was wondering who they would bring to life in the film (I was praying for the Dark Judges) and was also trying to think which time part in the Dredd timeline it would be based.
it is easy to say that I just love this film, love the way its filmed and love the over saturated effect they use when people take SLO-MO. Fans of the comics will be able to pick up on little easter eggs that are throughout the film and for me they just help brin the world of Judge Dredd to life.

Equilibrium is a 2002 Action film written and directed by Kurt Wimmer and stars Christian Bale, Sean Bean and Emily Watson.
Set in a futuristic world which is ruled by a totalitarian regime that has decided it can eliminate all wars by suppressing emotions with a drug called Prozium: books, art and music are strictly forbidden and feeling is a crime punishable by death.
John Preston (Christian Bale) is a high ranking Grammaton Cleric who'e job it is to seak out and dectroy anything that can cause emotion but after missing a dose of Prozium he starts to feel again and suddenly becomes the only person capable of overthrowing the regime.
I loved this film and still do 12 years later, I had some friends say that it would of been a even bigger hit if it had the money behind it that The Matrix.......they are spot on! This is one of the few films I can easily watch a few times a year and never get bored of it.
Strippers vs Werewolves is a 2012 low budget British Comedy/Horror directed by Jonathan Glendening and stars Billy Murray, Ali Bastian, Alan Ford and horror legend Robert Englund.
I don't know what to say about this film other then it felt like a challenge to watch it, don't get me wrong but I do enjoy some of the low budget films that have been coming out but this was just too bad.
The acting was worse then a school production and the "Strippers" looked like the girls who were turned away from Babestation and I dont know if it's just me but I am fed up of seeing Alan Ford being typecast as 'the old cockney geezer' as he is just the same in every film I have seen him in.
I am going to be honest and say that I couldn't make myself watch it all the way through as it really is that bad.
(Yes I know the picture is of shoddy quality but so was the film!)
As the title says I am sorry about not posting in quite a while but that will change (as will the style of the posts). Will be dropping the rating system and reviews will basically just be me rambling on. I do have a few posts lined up and ready to go and plan on starting tomorrow.
