Shaun Of The Dead

Shaun Of The Dead is a 2004 RomZomCom (Romantic Zombie Comedy) written by Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright, directed by Edgar Wright and stars Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Lucy Davis, Kate Ashfield, Dylan Moran, Peter Serafinowicz, Rafe Spall and Bill Nighy.

The film is the first in the Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy and focuses on Shaun (Pegg) a 30-Something year old who's life seems to be going nowhere, he lives with Pete (Serafinowicz) and Ed (Frost) and spends his time working and drinking in The Winchester.

I will be honest here and admit that I am finding it hard to review this films becuase I could easily go off on one and bang on about how much I love this film. It really is a must for fans of Spaced (a TV series directed by Wright and starts a big chunk of the cast) and anyone who loves good old British humour.

I did notice a few easter eggs like when Ed is on the phone with Shauns mum and says "We are coming to get you Barbara" which is a paraphrase from Night Of The Living Dead, one of the zombies is Tyres from Spaced and when they mention that dogs cant look up (which is a bit of a joke from Spaced).

To cut it short there is a zombie outbreak and Shaun wants to go save his girlfriend Liz as well as his mum and stepdad and thats when the shenanigans begin......Ed crashing, hedge jumping, playing with a swingball and even a bit of amature dramatics!

So if you want something that will make you smile and laugh out loud as well as a bit of bromance then Shaun Of The Dead is the film for you.

Oh and before I finish, this is one of the few films I have ever enjoyed with the alternative audio commentary.
